Measuring poverty

It strikes me that people who only know how to measure wealth in one way, can only see poverty in the same way. How difficult for us in the West to see the riches of lands and peoples who we rate as poor by material standards.

Indeed. So many people who are poor in material goods are rich in charity, hospitality, beauty, culture, familial love, etc.

Good to meet you this weekend. I was one of the folks who sat in on your "Matrix" talk, and it was wonderful. Thank you again for all your good teaching.

Amen brother!
You did a matrix talk?! Wish I'd been there!

Thanks for your comments Rachael. Hope you found the whole conference helpful. I'd be interested to hear of how things are unfolding where you are, and of the challenges you are facing.

Yeh Megan... looking at red pill/blue pill spirituality. The Matrix is one of my favourite movies - the first way in front of the others - and there are so many layers of meaning, and useful images and symbolism drawn from antiquity which invite us to look with a different set of eyes. Great entertainment, and so much more!
