Well, here it is - the place which we will call home for three months later in the year as we explore Australia. (NB: this is the unpacked edition... when it travels it all packs up quite compact - in all the excitement we forgot to take the pre-opened photo!) The kids are rapt, all wanting to sleep in the van instead of their own bed. Bet that will change on the 50th night (or earlier).
It was a weird experience heading off with this humungous contraption looming in the rear window. It takes some getting used to: looking into the mirror and thinking there is a huge transporter about to open your boot. However, it is not too difficult to tow.
We've spent a night in it... the idea of sleeping in takes a battering - every noise outside is totally unmuffled. As is the sunshine. Don't think an alarm clock will be necessary.
Does this mean I've reached middle age? Who cares?! We're going to have some great fun and see some fantastic places.

It's going to be so awesome, but I can tell you, from experience, you can't sleep in in a campervan, it's like a hot house! I bet the novelty for the kids will wear off after the first 3 or 4 nights! SO how old are you kids now? What grade at school are they in? I bet they're so much bigger than I remember! Say hi to your family for me!

Heat's not too bad. I slept in it last night, and it WAS warm. It's the early rising that will be the early fun. There's no sleeping in, because the sun doesn't wait for you to open the door!
