"We must be ready to allow ourselves to be interrupted by God. God will be constantly crossing our paths and canceling our plans by sending us people with claims and petitions. We may pass them by, preoccupied with our more important tasks, as the priest passed by the man who had fallen among thieves, perhaps - reading the Bible. When we do that, we pass by the visible sign of the Cross raised athwart our path to show us that not our way, but God's way must be done."

I love Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He alwasy has such profound things to say. I totally agree with that exerpt. I know I can get so preoccupied with what I think is important, that I unfortunately fail to see the very things that perhaps God meant for me to do. I've been trying to pay more attention to the things in my 'peripheral vision' to make sure that I don't miss out on anything that God has planned for me. It's a sad state of affairs when we become so self absorbed that we only see what we think is important, what about others?

Isn't it easy for us all to get to that point - too easy?
